Schedule : Monday-Friday (Start time TBD)

Pay : $27 / hour (subject to union probationary rate)

Our priority is to make sure we hire safe pitchers that care about the service provided to the community. As a pitcher with us the minimum responsibilities are :

Assisting with the collection of solid waste by manually loading garbage recycling and yard waste into the truck on designated routes.

Assisting the garbage truck driver with backing and other maneuvers

Stepping on and off the garbage truck repeatedly throughout the day in a safe and efficient manner.

Following route sheets and instructions from the driver or dispatcher to ensure all stops are serviced.

Maintaining cleanliness around collection and dumping areas by picking up any spilled waste.

Performing basic safety checks on equipment and reporting any issues to the driver or supervisor.

Interacting professionally and courteously with customers when necessary.

Performing other related duties as assigned by the driver or supervisor.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU :

Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly and working in all weather conditions.

Comfortable with repetitive motion including walking bending lifting and climbing.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Previous experience in waste collection or manual labor is an asset.

Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements (e.g. physical test background check etc.).
