As our new Environmental Scientist / Engineer you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.Job Description Role

As a member of our Land Quality and Remediation team, you’ll enjoy a flexible and dynamic work environment, where your personal success will depend on your collaborative working style, your client-centric mindset, and your superb project management and technical skills.

You will work closely with a group of amazing young professionals in the contaminated sites assessment and remediation industry to design, implement, and deliver a wide range of projects for a diverse client base across BC in the Power, Energy, Infrastructure, Mining, Industrial, and Built Environment sectors.

These projects will include a range of responsibilities from managing interdisciplinary projects to authoring technical summary reports, designing work programs, preparing competitive proposals for new work, and mentoring staff.

Key Responsibilities Responsibilities :

  • Management of contaminated projects including site investigations, monitoring and sampling programs, and remediation programs
  • Manage projects and ensure successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA / QC, and client satisfaction
  • Coordination and supervision of field staff and subcontractors
  • Working closely with experienced senior team members, including Project Directors, Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals, and technical specialists to develop work plans and execute projects.
  • Analysis and interpretation of environmental data and preparation of technical reports for senior review and submission to clients and regulators
  • Liaison with and building relationships with clients and other project stakeholders to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Active participation in proposals and other business development opportunities to build SLR’s client base and revenue stream as appropriate.
  • Provision of technical leadership through mentoring of staff during project delivery and for other aspects such as Health and Safety, training, team building and other as required.
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams to integrate findings and interpretations with various scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines

  • The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications / Education / Memberships :

  • 5+ years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.
  • Strong technical background in environmental site assessment and remediation, waste discharge permitting and compliance, and / or construction environmental management.

Specialization in other environmental disciplines is helpful and can supplement your core experiences.

  • Working knowledge of provincial (BC CSR) and federal (CCME) environmental regulations and guidelines
  • Undergraduate or Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering or geosciences preferred
  • Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization (, , , , preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for travel to job sites / clients
