Position Purpose and Summary
As key ambassadors of TWU, University Advancement staff aspire to the highest standards of achievement, accountability, and excellence in communications, offering their various gifts and expertise to advance the reputation of TWU as Canada’s premier Christian Global Liberal Arts University.
University Advancement supports the vision of the University by connecting individuals, foundations, and broader networks to God’s work of transformation in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff.
The Alumni Engagement Manager develops meaningful relationships with alumni and invites them to participate in the university’s vision to equip graduates for life.
Key Areas of Accountability
- Strategic Planning–Collaborate with the Vice President of Alumni and Families to develop and implement a successful relational engagement strategy for the global alumni community at TWU. Plan and implement an effective calendar of activities and events to increase alumni engagement. Develop and manage initiatives and programs to increase alumni engagement.
- Alumni Engagement – Actively develop and maintain meaningful relationships with a portfolio of alumni, inviting them to contribute to TWU’s vision to equip graduates for life. Recruit New Students - In collaboration with Enrolment Management, develop and facilitate opportunities for alumni to contribute to recruiting new students. This includes new student referrals, alumni legacy initiatives, assistance at recruitment events, network introductions, and more. Support Current Students – In collaboration with Development, facilitate opportunities to encourage alumni to financially contribute to TWU. This includes the management of a portfolio of annual giving alumni.Launch Graduating Students - In collaboration with the Centre for Calling and Career Development, facilitate opportunities for alumni to contribute to launching graduating students. This includes hiring, career networking, mentorship, and more. Work with the Vice President of Alumni and Families on developing and implementing a Recent Graduate engagement strategy.
- Volunteer Management – Oversee the Alumni Ambassador program. This includes managing an existing volunteer team of Alumni Ambassadors and recruiting new Ambassadors.
- Communication Management – Work collaboratively with the Advancement Marketing and Communications team to manage and implement a successful mass communication strategy for alumni. This includes social media, email campaigns, newsletters, etc.
- Community Engagement Events – Build relationships and connections with alumni at community engagement events. Strategically identify individuals who have the potential to get further involved.
- TWU Alignment – Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of TWU’s priorities, needs, culture, community, academic and co-curricular strengths.

Standards & Requirements
Education: Post-secondary degree required. Trinity Western University alumni preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of directly related experience in recruitment, portfolio or relational management, sales, fundraising, or similar experience.
