More specifically, you will be required to :
Develop strategies and build strong relationships to establish an intervention plan to facilitate the insured's recovery and return to work in a timely and sustainable manner.
Communicate by phone and mail with various parties to develop a comprehensive understanding of the elements and context related to the absence and communicate decisions to the insured and the policyholder.
Approve and adjudicate claims, process waivers of premium, establish the amount of the benefit, determine the period payable and proceed with the payment and ensure the necessary follow-ups are completed.
Prepare documents needed by the organization’s rehabilitation coordinator for claimant interviews. Review claims with medical consultants and the legal department as required.
Process disability claims in accordance with the terms of the group insurance contract.

What you bring to the table
College diploma in a related field
Experience in managing short and long-term disability claims or in a similar position in group insurance or experience as a healthcare professional
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
Advanced intermediate proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and / or clients
