Your Opportunity :
We are seeking multiple casual staff members for the role of Administrative Support IV in the Department of Surgery. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, excited to be part of a dynamic team, and open to feedback.
Flexibility is key, as the role involves working across different specialties within the department. As Administrative Support IV, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of one or more surgeon offices.
Working with minimal supervision under the guidance of the Administrative Services Manager and / or respective medical staff, you will interact with Alberta Health Services (AHS) employees, university staff, patients, families, and referring providers.
As the initial point of contact for patients and referring providers, you will communicate compassionately and professionally on behalf of the surgeon (s) and department to ensure patient- and family-centered care.
Key responsibilities include assessing, prioritizing, and managing complex surgeon schedules, which may encompass operating room time, outpatient clinics, call schedules, educational rounds, research meetings, conferences, and time away.
You will also be responsible for scheduling and confirming patient appointments and referrals, ensuring the smooth coordination of care.
This position requires strong critical thinking, time management, flexibility, and attention to detail.
