Job description

Position: Summer Camps Manager (part-time March to mid-June / full-time mid-June to mid-August 2026)

Department: Building Impact Summer Series

Reports To: Director of Strategic Partnerships and Student Pathways

Contract Period: March 2026 August 2026 (Seasonal with the possibility of renewal next year)

Part-time negotiable (10 hrs/week minimum) with full-time in person required mid-June to mid-August

Application Closing Date: February 17 2026

Salary: $28 - $35 per hour

The Summer Camps Manager leads the programmatic and educational aspects of the Building Impact Summer Series ensuring high-quality student experiences innovative program delivery and alignment with the Schools mission and strategic priorities. This role provides on-site leadership manages staff and volunteers serves as the primary parent contact and collaborates closely with the Logistics Coordinator and Director.

Responsibilities will include:

Program Planning (part-time; March mid-June)

  • Define program structure learning outcomes and curriculum across all streams.
  • Identify staffing needs and oversee instructor recruitment.
  • Work with MARCOM to finalize program promotion strategy.
  • Oversee all volunteer coordination and placement including student volunteers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director and Logistics Coordinator to ensure operational and programmatic alignment.

Staff & Volunteer Recruitment and Training (part-time; March May)

  • Conduct interviews and select instructional staff and program staff with support from Director of Strategic Partnerships and Student Pathways.
  • Conduct interviews and select student volunteers assigning roles aligned with program needs.
  • Lead training on program goals student engagement curriculum delivery and expectations for staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure all staff and volunteers are prepared for safe engaging and effective program delivery.

Program Delivery (full-time; mid-June - July)

  • Provide on-site leadership and supervision of all staff and volunteers ensuring a high-quality student experience.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents responding to inquiries sharing updates and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor student engagement wellbeing and staff performance throughout the program.
  • Solve programmatic issues or curriculum adjustments in real-time in collaboration with the Logistics Coordinator.
  • Ensure adherence to school policies and safety protocols.

Post-Program Evaluation (full-time; to mid-Aug)

  • Gather feedback from students families instructors and volunteers.
  • Produce qualitative and quantitative reports on program impact and learning outcomes.
  • Recommend improvements for next years program design and staff/volunteer training.


Qualifications will include:

  • A Bachelors degree; a background in education youth development or curriculum design is strongly preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience designing leading or managing youth programs camps or educational initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in program leadership including staff supervision volunteer management and on-site decision-making.
  • Experience working directly with young people in a teaching coaching mentoring or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development and student engagement best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead teams provide constructive feedback and foster a positive inclusive working environment.
  • Experience serving as a parent-facing point of contact with the ability to communicate clearly empathetically and professionally.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities particularly in real-time or high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to balance program vision and learning outcomes with day-to-day realities of delivery.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative feedback to improve program quality.
  • High level of professionalism integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to represent the School confidently and warmly with families staff partners and the broader community.
  • Comfort working flexible hours during the summer months including occasional early mornings or extended days during program delivery.
