  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications.

  • Complete verification reports for submittal to customers and carry out system acceptance tests with AHJ’s and other interested parties.

  • Complete As Built drawings on the completion of the job.

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of various product lines.

  • Identify general deficiencies and code issues in the field during verification.

  • Travel throughout the District business area when required.

  • Conduct small programming modifications to an existing system with supervision.

  • Program small systems (upon training)

  • Assist in developing employee training programs for employees and customers.

What we look for

Required

  • Completion of a Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification

  • Demonstrated ability to program basic operations on micro-processor-based systems without supervision.

  • Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft excel, word, and Windows operating systems.

  • Basic troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of electronic test equipment.

  • Ability to express clear technical solutions in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 40lbs.

  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.

  • Possess a valid Full G driver’s license.

  • Strong communication skills and customer service focus.

  • This is a union position. Placement within the pay range will be determined based on the candidate’s level of training and experience. The highest pay rate is reserved for individuals who are fully trained, including expertise in panel programming and other required skills.

Pay Range: $25.25-$42.59 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, we recognize that exceptional
candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile. If you believe your background warrants consideration beyond the stated range, we encourage you to apply. To support an efficient and fair hiring process, we may use technology assisted tools,
including artificial intelligence (AI), to help identify and evaluate candidates. All hiring decisions are ultimately made by human reviewers.
