About Us : The Wood Buffalo Community Foundation (WBCF) is a trusted philanthropic partner dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. Since our establishment in 2017, we've been committed to strengthening our diverse community through strategic grant-making, philanthropic leadership, and community partnerships, with an endowment approaching $6M.Position Overview : We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our foundation into its next chapter of growth and community impact. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the philanthropic landscape of the Wood Buffalo region, working closely with donors, community organizations, and regional stakeholders to create lasting positive change.Key Responsibilities : The Executive Director will provide visionary leadership in developing and implementing WBCF's strategic plan, build and maintain effective relationships with board members, donors, and community stakeholders, and act as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for WBCF in the community. They will lead fund development activities to grow the foundation's endowment and impact, cultivate meaningful relationships with current and prospective donors, and oversee the foundation's grant-making process to ensure alignment with strategic priorities. Additionally, the Executive Director will oversee day-to-day operations, including financial management and human resources, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and foundation policies.Candidate Profile : The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of leadership experience in non-profit management, philanthropy, or related fields, demonstrated success in fund development and donor relations, strong financial management and budgeting capabilities, and excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
