Interior Health AuthorityFernieWe are seeking a Casual Regional Shipper / Receiver at Elk Valley Hospital in Fernie, BC.
Days of work : Monday to Friday, Days
Shift times : 09 : 00 to 15 : 00

What will you work on?
This position performs receiving duties and performs related stores duties such as ordering, unpacking, checking, storing and distributing stock for designated departments within the designated sites. Prepares other goods for shipping by completing the appropriate documentation, packaging and arranging for courier pick-up. Verifies shipping orders and investigates shipping discrepancies as required. Assists with the distribution of parcels to various facilities within Interior Health. Acts as a liaison with the Corporate Logistics / Purchasing Departments.
Typical Duties Include :
- Ensures departments are stocked with equipment; delivering items to appropriate departments as required.
- Orders non-stock and stock supplies as per levels established by regionalized stores department; checks on backorder; receives, unpacks and checks all non-stock materials; checks invoices against orders; resolves discrepancies, and completes related documentation.
- Assists with uncrating and stocking shelves. Rotates stock; keeps the inventory shelves, storage areas and nursing departments organized, and in a clean and tidy order.
- Assembles, issues, delivers and ships supplies / goods from requisition requests received with assistance from Maintenance department as required and records for charging to the appropriate department.
- Identifies and returns damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers; liaises with Biomedical Department where appropriate; arranges for delivery and return of loan and return items; completes appropriate documentation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
