The MPD Technicians are required to supervise field installation and operation of Managed Pressure Drilling jobs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate the ability to operate Opla Energy’s proprietary Software.
Fill out and submit all required documentation including safety meetings, daily tickets, JHA’s and permits.
Identify and handle kicks and various other drilling scenarios.
Ensure Equipment is kept clean and functional, inspect for wear and perform maintenance as required.
Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
Utilizes and abides by safety procedures.
Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
2+ years of field experience required. Knowledge in the following areas : MPD processes, equipment capabilities, or downhole knowledge.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Valid driver’s license.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Pre-employment Testing (Drug, alcohol and fitness).
Basic Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel computer skills.
Must live in the US as this is a US-based position.
Competencies
Must be able to walk and stand throughout a 12-hour day.
Must be able to consistently lift 50 lbs. from a floor or table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique.
Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts. Must demonstrate good hand / eye coordination. Must demonstrate good manual dexterity.
Must be able to read, evaluate and respond to well plans, drilling procedures, displacement schedules and perform normal math calculations easily.
Must be familiar and comfortable with various types of machinery. Must have strong general mechanical skills.
Willingness to learn and ability to work well within a collaborative team.
