Job description

Overview

At Collier Project Leaders, we deliver capital project solutions to fulfill our clients’ needs across the built environment. The work we do makes a difference in communities and for the people who live there. We have a passion for it.

Our commitment to realizing our clients' vision inspires us to look beyond the immediate – to the possibilities of what we can achieve together. We are 18,000 projects and counting – improving lives and helping shape the growth of sustainable, progressive and inclusive communities.

Your Role

Ready to take the lead in making a difference? In this role, your expertise in complex water and wastewater treatment projects will directly contribute to improving communities across Canada.

Your knowledge in planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure will be instrumental in transforming water for the better. Together, we can help communities access safe and reliable drinking water, while also preserving the environment for future generations.

You’re one of our top technical experts focused on driving business growth by winning critical pursuits, leading complex projects, and driving growth in key accounts. As a Project Director, you lead practitioners assigned to the projects in your portfolio, empowering them to deliver outstanding service and quality.

You are a leader in your sector, developing and implementing multi-year strategies for sector growth. With a passion for successful project delivery, you are focused in growing our key strategic client accounts.

You’re a collaboration champion, who thrives in a dynamic matrix organizational structure. You take ownership of the company’s priorities and initiatives, bringing them to life within your project teams. You’re committed to continuous improvement and actively seek out innovative ways to take our operations to new heights.

As a key member of our team, you play a pivotal role in making a lasting impact on the communities we serve. Our team delivers projects that improve the quality of life in communities across Canada by providing access to essential services such as housing, education, and healthcare.

Our approach goes beyond the project to the people – who are the heart of it all.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and personify our values and culture.
  • Provide the technical expertise and develop win strategies to secure key pursuits in the water and wastewater treatment sector.
  • Act as sector expert, or subject matter expert resource for Clients, Project Leads, Project Specialists, and Designated Project Managers delivering services in the water and wastewater treatment sector.
  • Collaborative with colleagues, other business leaders, and external partners with a strong orientation towards technical delivery.
  • Manage multiple project teams to provide service delivery on complex projects and programs in alignment with client satisfaction, quality, and financial success criteria.
  • Oversee, support, and coach the professional development of practitioners on your project teams.
  • Build a strong national presence in the water and wastewater treatment sector, keeping abreast of trends and challenges relevant to the industry and to Colliers Project Leaders’ services.
  • Secure, lead, and grow a book of business aligned with fee income targets.
  • Act as Account Manager to grow key strategic accounts in your sector.
  • Implement a culture of quality and application of Quality Management System standards on your projects in alignment with client expectations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Professional Practice Best Practices and Standards of Practice.
  • Inspire a culture of delegation and empowerment through the implementation of our workforce composition model.
  • Promote domain expertise nationally through thought leadership and conference speaking to establish Colliers as best in class.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a practitioner including large multi-year projects and programs of work in the water and wastewater treatment sector, having developed a sector specialization recognized by the industry.
  • Professional industry credentials relevant and specific to the sector are considered a strong asset.
  • An established network of industry contacts and relationships in the water and wastewater treatment sector as well as involvement with applicable regional industry and trade associations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills including a proven ability to write winning proposals and win competitive interviews.
  • The ability to project and maintain a positive outlook and demonstrate an energetic disposition.
  • Willingness to travel as required across Canada.
  • Don’t have every single qualification? We know that some people are less likely to apply for a job unless they are a perfect match. At Colliers Project Leaders, we’re not looking for “perfect matches.” We’re looking to welcome people to our diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. So, if you’re excited about this role but don’t have every single qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. Whether it’s this role or another one, you may be just the right candidate.

    What you can expect :

  • An opportunity to truly impact our communities
  • A flexible work environment
  • A comprehensive onboarding experience
  • Significant professional development, training, and a mentorship program
  • A paid volunteer day
  • An environment where people feel welcome, heard and included, regardless of their differences
  • And much more!
  • Join our team of difference-makers and help shape the growth of dynamic communities!
