Job Summary :

Reporting to the Director, Mine Engineering, the Principal Mining Engineer will complement the company’s technical services team in the Vancouver corporate office by supporting a range of operational improvement initiatives and challenges across our mine sites in Canada, the USA, Mexico, and Brazil. This role is ideally based in Vancouver, although candidates from other locations may be considered, provided they are able to travel to Vancouver and our mine sites regularly. The ideal candidate has strong operational skills as well as a willingness to travel (estimated up to 30% of the time) to support the mine site teams.

Key Responsibilities :

• Identify value-adding opportunities while conducting site audits
• Deliver on continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets
• Benchmark Equinox Gold’s operations internally and against industry peers
• Undertake equipment trade-off studies and cost estimation
• Support underground mining method trade-off studies
• Advise site teams on operational best practice for both open pit and underground mining.
