We are looking for a Field Coordinator – Development Projects to provide support and direction for construction, operation and implementation of Mine Development Project(s) to all stakeholders. The Mine Development team manages a variety of contractor scopes across the mine which generally include, load and haul, mine closure, civil construction, and drill and blast. This position will support the execution of such projects through direct daily contractor and stakeholder management.

Reporting to the Senior Planner of Mine Development and working in an exciting and unique environment within the Iron Ore Company of Canada, you will be responsible for :
Ensuring that contractors engaged in Mine Development projects are supported and managed to a high standard and that all IOC / Rio Tinto standards, procedures and best practices are followed as it relates to Health; Safety; Environment & Quality (HSEQ) and mining efficiencies generally
Liaising and effectively communicating with stakeholders daily
Coordinating contractor and IOC interdepartmental transactions
Managing Incidents, Contractor Work Permits, Daily Reports, Scorecard inputs, etc.
Conducting inspections
Coaching on Mine best practices
What you’ll bring
Proven leadership skills which demonstrate collaboration, teamwork, team accountability, and problem solving.
Strong safety mindset and willingness to enforce safety protocols and procedures
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in open pit mining or heavy civil construction. Earthworks and Drill and Blast experience would be desired.
Strong safety focus and willingness to enforce safety protocols and procedures
Strong leadership experience and great communication skills
Computer literacy in MS Office application
