Family Law Lawyer - Build & Grow Your Practice
We are looking for an experienced and client-focused Family Law Lawyer to lead and expand our practice group. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of complex legal matters while providing strategic guidance to clients. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of practice experience in family or estate law, demonstrating strong advocacy, negotiation, and legal drafting skills. An existing client base is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Represent clients in family law matters, ensuring their rights and best interests are upheld.
Conduct thorough legal research and develop case strategies aligned with current laws.
Draft legal documents with clarity, precision, and attention to detail.
Negotiate settlements effectively while maintaining professionalism and strong relationships with opposing counsel.
Provide clear and empathetic legal guidance to clients navigating sensitive matters.
Maintain accurate records of case progress and client communications, upholding confidentiality standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficient in legal drafting with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation skills to advocate for clients effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication for legal documents and correspondence.
- Interpersonal skills to navigate sensitive client situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Deep understanding of family and / or estate law , including applicable statutes and regulations.
- Licensed to practice law in British Columbia (or eligibility to obtain).
- A portable book of business is a strong asset.
