What you’ll do :
- Assume responsibility for the day-to-day Payroll operations of various groups within the business, as well as providing third party payroll services to local Co-ops within the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Manage payroll administration and provide guidance to employees and managers across the CRS in areas that include but are not limited to maintenance of payroll records, payroll and wage garnishment, referral bonuses and commissions, temporary incentives and severance lump sum payout, auto allowances, unemployment administration (., claims and compensation).
- Build and manage a team that is customer focused and provides high levels of service.
- Stay abreast and communicate changes in reporting requirements, changes to provincial and federal payroll legislation and changes to minimum wage to all local Co-ops using the payroll system.
- Guide the development of existing payroll staff while ensuring facilitation of knowledge transfer and coaching to payroll administrators at local Co-ops occurs regularly. Act as a subject matter advisor to ensure the effective usage of the payroll system.
- Make decisions in the execution of Payroll related responsibilities to support attainment of functional goals / objectives.
- Provide input on system enhancements to ensure payroll systems are operating optimally and efficiently.

Along with one other Payroll Services Supervisor, you will work closely with Payroll Services team and will report into the Manager, Payroll Services. This team strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, community and support.
