The Pukatawagan Education Authority invites applications for 2024-2025 school Year for the following position : High School Science Teacher Pukatawagan is a community of the Mathias Colomb Cree Nation located in northern Manitoba near the Saskatchewan border (North-East of Flin Flon, South of Lynn Lake, West of Thompson) in an area of beautiful lakes, rivers, and forests. Sakastew School is a K to12 school. About Pukatawagan : Pukatawagan is located on the Churchill River also known as the Missinippi River. The population is over 3,000+ both on & off Reserve. Pukatawagan Education Authority offers : subsidized rental, sign on bonus, moving & travel allowances, Professional Development, health Plan & benefits. Many opportunties for hunting, fishing, boating, skiing and skidooing are all part of the culture of Pukatawagan. Travel to and from Pukatawagan can be accessed by train or plane from The Pas. During the winter months there is a winter road. There is a Northern and community store, Roman Catholic Church, Nursing Station and many other facitlities operated by Mathias Colomb Cree Nation. Satellite internet upgraded to starlink, cell reception can be utilized through this satellite system. Salaries are paid on a biweekly basis by direct deposit. Qualifications and Skills :
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass background reference, criminal and child abuse registry.
- Previous experience working with Aboriginal students is an asset
- Graduate or Post Graduate academic credentials in School Administration would be an asset.
- Educational Leadership experience in a First Nations setting would be an asset.
- Ability to speak Cree would be an asset.
