Job description3 to 5 years of outside sales experience in the commercial construction or building materials industry. Strong knowledge of lumber, engineered wood products, and structural components. Experience selling to general contractors, subcontractors, and developers. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Self-motivated and results-driven with a passion for sales. Ability to read blueprints and understand take-offs (preferred). Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory. Our client is seeking a motivated Outside Sales Representative to join our team, specializing in lumber and building materials sales to commercial contractors. The ideal candidate has a hunter mentality, strong relationship-building skills, and a proven track record of 3 to 5 years of sales experience in the commercial construction sector.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and manage relationships with commercial contractors, builders, and developers.
- Prospect and generate new business through cold calling, networking, and site visits.
- Provide product recommendations and technical support on lumber, engineered wood, and other building materials.
- Prepare and present quotes, bids, and pricing proposals to customers.
- Work closely with the estimating and inside sales teams to ensure accurate pricing and product availability.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and project developments to identify new sales opportunities.
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and achieve sales targets.
- Conduct job site visits to ensure customer satisfaction and address any concerns.
