Your Opportunity
Stantec's Mining Practice is hiring a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to join our growing team across Canada. This position reports to the Supervisor of Electrical & Automation. As a Senior Electrical Power Engineer, you will be a key member of the electrical / automation team working with various clients in completing feasibility studies and detailed engineering projects for underground and surface mining operations. You would have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects both domestic and international. This is role is for a full-time position.
Your Key Responsibilities

- You will work with a team of engineers and designers in the planning and execution of project work, including scoping, asset integrity assessments, as-built documentation, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering. You will provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
- You will provide clients with engineering support to meet their needs and incorporate client suggestions for future requirements in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This includes attending client meetings, which may at times be remote, as well as corresponding directly with the client.
- You will regularly interface with other disciplines and departments to execute projects.
- You will be responsible for the review and analysis of drawings for possible safety and constructability problems prior to issuance to clients.
- As a member of the electrical / automation team, your primary duties will include :
Power system design and analysis in accordance with applicable codes for surface and underground mining operations.

Education and Experience
Electrical Infrastructure & Power Distribution Systems Design including 35 kV, 25 kV or 15 kV power distribution; - 5 kV and 600 V power distribution / motor control;
