JomboneMoncton, New BrunswickThe Role : As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Step-Down Unit, you will provide specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general medical-surgical units. You will monitor and manage patients with moderate acuity levels, ensuring their recovery and stability while delivering high-quality, compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and manage symptoms to detect and respond to clinical changes promptly.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with established care plans and physician orders.
Care for patients with cardiac monitors, oxygen therapy, IV drips, and other advanced medical equipment.
Educate patients and families about ongoing care needs, medications, and discharge planning to support recovery.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes.
Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Requirements :
Current, unrestricted RN license in your province of practice.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in step-down, telemetry, or critical care settings.
Certification in ACLS and BLS is required; PALS or additional critical care certifications are an asset.
Proficiency in managing patients requiring advanced monitoring and moderate care needs.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in fast-paced situations.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Fluent in English and French.
