About This Opportunity

Located in the beautiful suburban community of Bedford, ScotiaMed Family Medicine and Walk In Clinic opened in , the first clinic of it’s kind in the community. The clinic provides family practice, urgent medical patient centered care and blood collection services by a friendly and professional staff in a convenient location that is wheelchair assessable and offers ample free parking. Our pride in our community where we live and work is evident in our ongoing sponsorship for various youth sports as well as our participation in high school co-op placement programs. Here are some highlights about this collaborative clinic :

Two full time physicians on staff
A 0.5 Family Practice Nurse
7 day a week walk-in clinic
Excellent front office staff, including an office manager
Based in a community of approx. 30, residents
A well stocked procedure room for minor surgeries
Medical education opportunities
Competitive overhead with option for fixed or percentage
Clinic owned and operated by two emergency room physicians
Accuro EMR
Billing done by clinic staff

This clinic is seeking a full time physician to join its team.

Responsibilities

ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness

be accountable for appropriate workload and practice

work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required

continuum of patient care with health care providers within your practice and / or community

provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level heath care

build to capacity within the first two years

operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority

work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community’s health needs

participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities

utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Qualifications

all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)

all specialists must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)

membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
