Role : Sr. Systems Design Engineer
Type : 12 month contract + conversion to FTE
Location : Hybrid 3x a week in Cambridge, ON
Rate : $55-$60
JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is looking for a senior level systems engineer to join a top automation company on a contract or permanent basis. You will work with the customer, the project manager, design, assembly, and software teams to design the solutions that meet the customer's requirements. You will get the opportunity to thrive as a technical leader by wearing the 3 hats : 1) understanding the customer's technology and process and becoming the subject matter expert in the equipment / system, 2) providing project technical clarity by defining system requirements and validating system capability, and 3) being the technical leader on the system from cradle to launch, guiding the design teams, managing technical risk, and driving improvements in quality, cost, and delivery.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 10 years of experience mechanical, electrical, controls or systems engineering support
- Experience in nuclear tooling and equipment development and testing, preferably including field support and experience
- Thorough understanding of machine design and build, machine controls, structured problem solving, statistical analysis, and precision engineering principles
- Strong communication skills and experience working with high level clients / stakeholder
