Position
Waterjet Cutting Machine Operator
We are seeking an experienced Waterjet Cutting Machine Operator to support our production operations by setting up, operating, and maintaining waterjet cutting equipment, including pump rebuilds. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and hands‑on experience working with foam and plastic materials. This role requires accuracy, consistency, and a commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Job Duties
- Operate waterjet cutting machines to cut foam and plastic materials according to production schedules
- Set up jobs by preparing materials, loading sheets, and verifying programs and cutting parameters
- Prepare and organize materials for upcoming jobs, confirming correct material type, thickness, and dimensions prior to cutting
- Monitor cutting operations to maintain accuracy, consistency, and material quality
- Adjust machine settings, cutting speeds, and pressures based on material specifications
- Perform routine machine checks, basic maintenance, and cleaning to support safe and reliable equipment operation
- Support inventory management by identifying low stock levels of materials, consumables, or machine components and reporting them to supervisors
- Inspect finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and compliance with production standards
- Assist in training new operators on basic machine functions, safety procedures, and workflow practices
- Identify and report equipment issues, material defects, or process concerns to supervisors
- Coordinate with supervisors or production leads to prioritize jobs, manage workflow, and meet daily production targets
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and industry safety standards
- Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and operational policies to ensure consistent and compliant production practices
- Ensure proper disposal or recycling of scrap materials in accordance with company procedures
Required Experience and Education
High School DiplomaMinimum 2 years of experience operating waterjet cutting equipmentExperience and / or knowledge operating a 4‑head waterjet cutting machineAbility to read drawings, layouts, or work instructionsMechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skillsUnderstanding of quality standards related to foam and plastic productsFamiliarity with measuring tools (e.g., calipers, tape measures, gauges) to verify part accuracyStrong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies in materials or finished partsAbility to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environmentAbility to work independently and manage multiple jobs in a fast‑paced production environmentCompany Address
