Project Manager
The Project Manager manages the end-to-end Project management life cycle, from the initiation, planning, execution, control and close-out phases and is responsible for the management on the success of a solution delivered. The role involves a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills and project management proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Leads and facilitates the whole Project lifecycle, including planning and design sessions, testing, training, product demos and solution adoption.
- Manage the solution adoption strategies as part of a multi-disciplinary Project team.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate issue resolution.
- Work collaboratively with project teams, and project stakeholders to support the desired outcomes of the projects.
- Facilitates on-the-job learning of essential concepts and tools that promote the adoption of modern service delivery and transformation within Alberta Innovates.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues and develop strategies to mitigate or address them proactively.
- Manages and navigates changes in direction, including priorities and expectations, to ensure successful completion of project lifecycle.
- Manages communication to improve transparency and disseminate information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Negotiates agreements regarding resource requirements to expand / collapse of the project team as needed to meet commitments.
- Identifies and removes roadblocks and distractions that affect the project lifecycle.
- Mitigates conflict and ensures resolution.
- Maintains metrics using project management tools to provide visibility on project progress, and quality assurance.
- Project stakeholder management includes project progress and financial reporting.
- Other responsibilities as required or requested.
Qualifications
Familiar with either the Agile and / or Waterfall Project Management methodologies.years or more in project management experience.Experience in application development methodologies.Minimum years progressive Information Technology experience and a broad knowledge of Information TechnologyPMP and / or PRINCE certification.Engagement period :
