Tool and Die Maker

Agilus is recruiting for a Tool and Die Maker in the Automotive Industry in Cambridge, Ontario.

Reporting to the Toolroom Supervisor, the Tool & Die Maker is responsible for, but not limited to, operate safely and productively all common toolroom machinery including jig borers, job grinders and duplicating machines

Responsibilities :

• Required to completely and independently plan and perform all work necessary to make, develop and prove any type of dies (i.e. blanking dies, forming dies, draw dies or progressive dies). Combining one or more of the above mentioned types of operation and other like items of the highest degree of complexity. To determine from sample parts or part drawings the type or kind of die or other tool needed with its dimensions, cutting clearances and other like features.
• Plan and break down jobs from the above so that work can be carried out by employees in related machining and tooling classifications
• Prepare sketches for machining of tool details. May suggest design changes and / or modifications of tools to facilitate construction or practicability of usage.
• Tow work to sample parts, tool design drawings, sketches, accepted shop practices, oral instructions or standard tool manuals to required tolerances.
• Perform tool and die tryout incidental to the work as required and to also perform duties of maintenance Die Maker when required.

• Promote and encourage safe work habits and contribute towards the continual program of good housekeeping.
• Ensure the standards of Section 28 of the OHSA are met
