Overview

Fountain Tire  is looking for an experienced Marketing Technology Manager to join the Marketing team in our South Edmonton Corporate Head Office.

SUMMARY

Straddling between marketing and technology, we are seeking a skilled Marketing Technology Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital marketing landscape. The Manager, Marketing Technology & Innovation is responsible for leading Fountain Tire’s digital transformation efforts, including the development, implementation, and performance of various owned digital assets to deliver a world class customer experience on (mobile, or desktop) and other platforms, contributing to achievement of overall Omni channel strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Champion Customer-Focused Experiences : Drive business impact and value by understanding customer journeys across digital channels, providing optimal experiences for customers and prospects, and ensuring seamless paths to conversion to accelerate growth.
  • Lead Marketing Technology Initiatives : Manage the creation, planning, and delivery of various marketing technology initiatives, analyze their effectiveness, and continually optimize and improve the customer experience. (Adobe Ecommerce & CMS, Salesforce CRM & Account Engagement, and more).
  • Evolve Digital Roadmap : Oversee the evolution of Fountain Tire’s digital roadmap (public websites, customer portals, marketing automation, online tools, and support technology) to support the overall marketing plan for all retail, commercial, and wholesale customers, collaborating with internal and external partners to grow and optimize digital channels.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership : Lead cross-functional teams in developing, implementing, and evaluating marketing technology projects, including websites, marketing automation, online tools, and web applications.
  • Team Leadership : Provide leadership to the Digital team through effective performance management, daily mentorship, and by ensuring a continuum of skill development to achieve success.
  • Functional Responsibilities

  • Develop Business Cases : Create business cases for required improvements and digital opportunities to garner organizational support for investment.
  • Customer Requirements Research : Collaborating with our CX lead, research customer requirements and expectations to help plan and design optimal solutions for current and future websites / applications.
  • Channel Data Analysis : Analyze channel data and user behavior to understand and improve the customer experience through channel optimization.
  • A / B Testing and Personalization : Build A / B tests and personalized experiences in collaboration with digital analytics, marketing, UX, content writers, and audience managers to enhance customer experience, improve relevancy, and increase digital sales.
  • Identify Technology Gaps : Continuously identify technology gaps and requirements, working collaboratively with information services, customer experience, and operations to implement relevant technologies, potentially using a sprint project management methodology.
  • Project Management : Lead all developments, improvements, and updates to Fountain Tire’s digital assets, including objectives, scoping, scheduling, budgeting, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Competitive Analysis : Maintain an understanding of competitors’ digital landscapes.
  • Other Responsibilities

  • Participate, through cost analysis and projections, in the annual budgeting process.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of Marketing and other departments to accomplish common goals and projects.
  • Travel to various meetings / conferences as required.
  • Participate in all safety initiatives, as required or assigned, to guarantee safety at Fountain Tire.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • The necessary experience, knowledge, skills and abilities required in the role :

  • Bachelors Degree preferred not required - Computer Science, Economics, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related programs of study / experience will be considered
  • Digital Marketing or relevant experience with a min of 7 years’ experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role
  • 7+ years of e-commerce website development with a proven track record of managing complex, multi-phase, potentially competing demanding projects.
  • Track record of business case development and approval.
  • Strong technical working knowledge of relevant and new marketing technology, ecommerce, website environments, and technology stacks.
  • Proven experience with utilizing formal project management methodology on technical marketing projects
  • Experience with digital requirements, optimization, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Well-developed analytical / critical thinking abilities, trouble shooting and negotiation skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with team members, associates and suppliers as well as leading third-party agency partners.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Demonstrated initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • An attitude that encourages a safe, co-operative work environment.
  • Ability to accommodate travel 5-10% per year.
