Senior Manager, Service Delivery and Automation
Job Summary
As part of the CDO Shared Data Management Office (SDMO) team, The Senior Manager, Service Delivery and Automation you will build, lead, and inspire a cross-functional team to deliver product features and services while developing a team culture of ownership that reinforces the core values of RBC.
You will be the responsible for digitization of key data governance processes and maintenance of the existing applications and infrastructure.
You will help prioritize work for your team, making difficult tradeoffs on design based on business constraints, while ensuring on-time deliverables and high-quality software.
You will provide technical guidance and mentor developers to help them reach their potential and ship a world-class product.

What is the opportunity?
As part of the CDO Shared Data Management Office (SDMO) team, the Senior Manager, Service Delivery and Automation you will build, lead, and inspire a cross-functional team to deliver product features and services while developing a team culture of ownership that reinforces the core values of RBC.
You will be the responsible for digitization of key data governance processes and maintenance of the existing applications and infrastructure.
You will help prioritize work for your team, making difficult tradeoffs on design based on business constraints, while ensuring on-time deliverables and high-quality software.
You will provide technical guidance and mentor developers to help them reach their potential and ship a world-class product.
What will you do?
- Providing solutions or recommendations on complicated technology issues for application development and implementation
- Maintaining relationships with clients to ensure the implementation quality of application systems
- Allocating and ensuring resource arrangements during the application development life cycle
- Overseeing the development and implementation of multiple, complex, organization-wide systems
What will you need to succeed?
- Build and Maintain web applications using Python, C#, .NET, Java
- Support SAAS vendor projects
- Be actively involved in strategic direction and product decisions
- Manage a team of senior developers and help develop their careers with stretch responsibilities and excellent feedback
- Manage ad hoc projects and reporting
- You are accountable for your team's successful, timely delivery of high-quality modern web applications
Must have
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in Software Development
- 3+ years of people management experience
- University degree in Computer Science or related field
- Senior-level experience designing, developing, and delivering complex technical software solutions (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience leading systems design of service-based architectures and microservices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills allow you to effectively influence across the organization.
- Strong understanding of strategic and business planning processes
Nice to Have
- Experience with any Data Governance Tool like Collibra
- Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Lineage and Data Management
- Experience with metamodel design
- Experience in building end-to-end data pipelines
- Proven hands-on experience in containerization - Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift etc.
