Position Summary

The Junior Geophysicist plays a vital role in Lamontagne geophysics limited field acquisition efforts by handling processing, archiving, and quality control of survey data. This position requires travel to on-site field projects as required and an office component. As part of the Kingston Team, the Junior Geophysicist reports to the Chief Geophysicist with dotted lines of communication to the Field Operations Manager. The candidate collaborates closely with the field crew, Operations Team, and Technology Team, bridging communication and ensuring efficient data processing and reporting.

Job Duties

• Participate in geophysical borehole and surface EM field surveys as required.
• Work closely with the field crew (Operations) and Chief Geophysicist.
• Prepare positional survey data, including GPX and KML files.
• Perform in-field or in office data processing and the archiving of geophysical data collected on a daily basis.
• Troubleshoot acquisition and processing problems and provide assistance.
• Create reports using Word, Excel, and occasionally presentations in PowerPoint.
• Ensure data quality and meet data delivery schedule requirements.
• Become proficient in older Macintosh operating systems and software. Identify software and hardware issues and report bugs.
