The Role
Own Uniking’s national Food & Beverage segment across beverage, bakery, protein, dairy, fruit & veg, and food processing. Lead the strategy, coach the team, and drive disciplined execution to grow revenue directto plants (no resale to distribution). The Director will foster growth in each sub-segment; account allocation (including potential house accounts) and quota structure for the role will be defined during the hiring process.
What You’ll Do
- Segment strategy & execution: Execute/Build/Progress plan for each sub-segment; define pursuits, playbooks, and coverage by account tier.
- Team leadership & cadence: Run weekly 1:1s and pipeline reviews; plan ride-alongs; enforce CRM discipline and follow-ups.
- Account growth: Drive multi-site expansion with reps; support key pursuits and proposals; may own selected accounts (to be defined).
- Commercial discipline: Enforce/Establish pricing guardrails; establish bid/no-bid rules; run win/loss and margin reviews.
- Forecasting & CRM: Operate a tight weekly forecast (Zoho CRM), with clean stages, probabilities, and close dates.
- Cross-functional delivery: Coordinate with Inside Sales, Production Coordination, Logistics, and Accounting for clean orders, accurate lead times, and proactive customer communication.
- Supplier alignment: Secure program pricing, lead-time priority, and joint planning with core suppliers.
KPIs You Own
- Industry growth % (by sub-segment and Industry total)
- Rep performance assessments (activity, conversion, margin discipline)
- Activity & pipeline hygiene (coverage, velocity, forecast accuracy)
- Vendor analysis (pricing, reliability, lead times, program wins)
What You Bring
- 5–10 years in F&B industrial sales/solutions with proven team leadership.
- Conveying/packaging fluency: chains, belts, sprockets, wear parts; understands plant realities and uptime pressures.
- Track record growing named accounts while protecting gross margin under competitive pressure.
- CRM-driven operator (Zoho or similar); runs a clear weekly operating rhythm.
- Able to visit customers and suppliers as needed.
- Base salary + quarterly targets + annual target
