Barista

Job Description

Mon Pitou is hiring a part-time Barista / Server to join our team. This position ranges from 20 hours per week or based on business needs. Shifts are typically 5 hours, with possibility for extension.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete coffee orders throughout the day using a state-of-the-art espresso machine.
• Work independently and be able to oversee the entire storefront.
• Pack and sell our retail products, including on Uber.
• Organize and consolidate pastries sold throughout the afternoon.
• Build rapport with new customers and returning customers
• Liaise with other peers to help where needed
• Perform tasks for closing the store (9 PM), and opening the store (as early as 7 AM)
• Proper cleaning and shut-down of coffee machine.
• Meeting the needs of all guests through customer service and product knowledge
• Stocking / restocking of all in-store products and goods
• Cash handling and transactions
• Organize, wash and maintain dish-ware
• General housekeeping and maintenance
• Professionally and knowledgeably represent the company
• Ensure customer satisfaction through de-escalation methods
• Prevent and minimize waste.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Must have Saturday and Sunday availability, and will be scheduled based on business needs. Candidates who cannot satisfy this requirement will not be considered.

Evening availability is required.

1 year of experience as a barista in a busy fast-paced establishment is required.

6 months of serving is an asset

Lightspeed POS experience is a strong asset.

Ability to multitask, and think critically

Has a sense of business acumen and self-confidence

Proactive and self-motivated

Strong communication and organization skills

Collaborative, honest and dependable

Fluent in English
