Job description

Our client is Canada's leading healthcare distributor and has distribution centres across Canada servicing leading chain retailers, independent pharmacies, clinics, and hospitals across the country for all of their needs. They are looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join their team. As a BI Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and deploying various business intelligence solutions that will enable the business to transform data into meaningful insights.

This is an on-site position (3 days a week) based in Vaughan, ON.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into effective data solutions
  • Provide technical design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, system, and technical support for BI initiatives
  • Develop and maintain reports, and dashboards for cross-functional groups
  • Develop and maintain automated data pipelines, relational and multidimensional data models
  • Design and develop analytical data solutions and efficient data visualizations leveraging business intelligence tools (i.e., Power BI) to enable value-add decision-making
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements : automating manual processes, redesigning existing reports for greater scalability, etc.
  • Support self-service reporting and resolve issues in a timely fashion toward a stable BI environment
  • Develop and update technical documentation

Requirements :

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • 8 years of hands-on experience in a data-related role
  • Experience in data modelling, ETL data pipelines and reports development
  • Strong T-SQL skills
  • Solid knowledge of database fundamentals and performance tuning
  • Solid knowledge of relational and dimensional modelling concepts
  • Experience with Microsoft suite – SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory and Data Lakes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and applications
