Position Overview
The Integrity Group of Companies consists of six different business units, with the primary areas of focus including the construction of post frame buildings across Western Canada, supplying framing material packages to homebuilders in Calgary and area, as well as manufacturing. As a growing Western Canadian private business, Integrity Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Accounting professional to join our team. The Junior Accountant is responsible for the accounting functions of Integrity’s Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank & credit card reconciliations and posting Sales and Vendor Invoices. This position requires strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills as well as effective problem solving, prioritizing and time management skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for posting and reporting of journal entries, reconcile accounts including bank accounts and maintaining general ledgers
- Post sales invoices and receive payments from customers and posting them in Quick books.
- Investigate and resolve payment and billing discrepancies
- Post and reconcile customer payments to general ledgers
- Process invoices and issue payments
- Review and verify invoices and payment requests
- Sort, code and match invoices; reconcile invoices to supplier statements
- Prepare and process electronic transfers, payments and cheque runs
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Maintain vendor files, correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Any other task as assigned by Controller
Education / Experience Requirements
Minimum Experience : Two to three years experience in an accounting role.College Diploma or University Degree in Business Accounting, Finance or related field considered an assetWorking knowledge of QuickBooks is asset.Proficiency in Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Gmail, Slides, Docs) is a mustExperience in the construction industry would be considered an assetSkills / Qualifications
