The role can be performed from either of our offices in Montreal or Sherbrooke, in a hybrid mode (or the possibility of remote work from Toronto). The Account Director is responsible for strategic development, account management, and account growth. They will assume a leadership position with clients to recommend best strategies and tactics and will oversee the execution of projects internally. Researching and developing new business opportunities will also be an important part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relations Management
- Direct account plans and activities while respecting deadlines and budget constraints
- Assume a leadership role during client briefings, kick‑off meetings (internal project launches), and client presentations
- Maintain constant contact with clients to ensure their needs are met and exceeded; establish long‑term relationships with clients and stakeholders and provide them with a positive Lemieux Bédard experience at every encounter
- Lead brand and strategy development for accounts
- Counsel and challenge clients on strategic angles and tactics
- With a view to constant expansion, ensure profitability and support business growth by proposing new venture opportunities
- Develop new business opportunities with current client base and potential prospects
- Proactively research pitch opportunities and play an active role during the pitch
Finance
- Develop and present budgets adapted to clients’ realities; suggest a variety of options when appropriate
- Examine and approve estimates prior to submission to ensure revenue realization and profitability
- Outline monthly forecasts for accounts under the client’s direction and review on a weekly basis
- Respect specific client criteria in terms of purchase orders, billing, and payment terms
Internal Management
- Embody the client’s voice internally; act as a brand ambassador
- Write project and creative briefs (in collaboration with the team)
- Act as a coach and mentor with direct reports and other members of the account services team to nurture their professional growth and to help organize priorities
- Ensure quality control to satisfy and surpass client expectations
- Frequently review budgets, and propose solutions if necessary
- Supply the creative team with constructive feedback following concept unveiling
- Help identify staffing and training needs

Qualifications
- University degree in a job‑related discipline
- 1+ years of agency or pharmaceutical company experience in an account director role
- Bilingual (English and French), written and spoken
