As the new Vac Forming / Machine Team Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and measuring activities of the operators within the department. The position spends 50% of the time in production; 25% directly supervising and 25% coordinating the team.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities :
Assists the Group Leader in coordinating labour requirements based on standard work and hourly count board targets while minimizing overtime to meet customer demand and achieving quoted labour costing.Ensures production line layout setup to include station work elements, labour balancing, equipment needs and incoming and outgoing material flow that support one piece flow production of the job based on quoted labour and material cost with the support of setup crew.Ensures material Kanban systems and requests are being executed properly by material handlers and operators.Ensures standard work procedures for operators and material handlers are being followed for each production job and supporting processes.Ensures job SQDC metrics boards and hour x hour boards are filled out complete, on time and accurate.Responsible for working with Group Leaders and other Team Coordinators to achieve labour needs for the total business requirements based on the Section Manager’s / Department Manager’s direction.Ensures production materials are staged on the line before production process begins maximizing efficiency.Accountable for line tear down including material return to stock, storage of assembly fixtures and tool return, and all applicable 5S standards.Ensures and initiates action with Group Leader / Section Manager / Department Manager to eliminate issues preventing a quality, productive and on time delivery of a production job through root cause analysis and corrective action for KPI target.Supports continuous improvement to include production methods, productivity, delivery performance, equipment performance, product quality and employee safety while engaging operators’ ideas.Provides feedback to Section Manager for performance appraisals for operators. Completes Monthly Temp Assessments.Conducts and enforces all work duties as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, the health, safety & environmental policies, procedures, and policies of the companyPerforms any other reasonable assignments given by the Department Management or his / her designates.Qualifications :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred1-2 years of related experience and / or training;Experience leading a production and team in the machine shop environmentAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Strong organization skillsHave outstanding time management skillsHave excellent communication skills, both written and verbalHave strong teamwork and technical skillsHave basic computer skills such as Microsoft Products
