Law Clerk - Estate & Trust Litigation

T&B is currently recruiting a Law Clerk to join our team in our Toronto, ON office.

The successful candidate should posses the following :

Minimum 2 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting; estate litigation is a plus;
A Certificate or Diploma from a recognized College; legal assistant or law clerk program;
Ability to perform under pressure, meet tight deadlines and handle multiple, yet sometimes conflicting, priorities;
Proficiency in the use and application of Word, Adobe, Excel and Outlook;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Attention to detail;
Team player, adaptable to a changing environment.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Preparing court documents, including but not limited to, application / motion materials, statements of claim / notices of action, mediation briefs, factums and book of authorities;

Preparing affidavits of documents and organizing voluminous productions;

Preparing cost outlines and bills of costs;

Supporting file work by identifying, obtaining, and organizing documents from the clients and from other parties to the litigation;

Drafting correspondence to clients, counsel and court;

Providing input into the procedures and practices;

Docketing time using case management software.
