Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team on a short-term contract. You will play a critical role in achieving SOC 2 certification by enhancing infrastructure security, migrating services to AWS, and implementing robust monitoring solutions, all while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and stability.

Objective :

  • Lead efforts to achieve SOC 2 certification for a legacy web-based microservices ASP.NET applications hosted on Windows Server VMs with Microsoft SQL Server .
  • Build a new infrastructure in AWS (EC2 instances, Load Balancer, CloudFront, WAF).
  • Migrate databases (SQL Server) and data jobs to the new AWS environment.
  • Migrate Oracle Cloud VM instances to AWS EC2 instances using a lift-and-shift approach with VM images.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and set up monitoring with Grafana, Loki, and CloudWatch for EC2 instances.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform gap analysis and implement SOC 2-compliant controls.
  • Secure Windows Server VMs, AWS infrastructure, and Microsoft SQL Server (encryption, access controls).
  • Migrate Oracle Cloud virtual machines to AWS EC2 using VM image transfers.
  • Deploy infrastructure using Terraform and automate data jobs execution.
  • Configure logging, monitoring, and disaster recovery (Grafana, Loki, CloudWatch).
  • Document processes and support external SOC 2 auditors.
  • Location : Fully Remote

    Duration : 3 Months (Immediate Start)

    Requirements

    Requirements :

  • 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure / DevOps roles with expertise in SOC 2 compliance and security frameworks.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing Windows Server VMs and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Proven track record of migrating VM to AWS EC2 using lift-and-shift strategies.
  • Proficiency with AWS services, including EC2, Load Balancer, CloudFront, and WAF.
  • Expertise in infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  • Experience implementing and managing monitoring and logging systems using Grafana, Loki, and CloudWatch.
  • Advanced knowledge of automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Python).
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, access control, and encryption.
  • Experience in disaster recovery planning, logging, and auditing processes to meet SOC 2 compliance.
  • Excellent documentation skills and ability to work with external auditors.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Requirements

    Required Skills and Experience :

  • At least 5 years of experience building and maintaining web applications in a DevOps capacity.
  • Ability to work in the EST timezone to address operational issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in AWS services and cloud architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), container orchestration, and Karpenter.
  • Expertise in CI / CD tools such as ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
  • Advanced knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Solid scripting skills in Bash. Deep understanding of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with observability tools : Loki, Grafana, and Elasticsearch.
  • Knowledge of database systems : Redis, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Preferred Qualifications :
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Administrator Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
