Job description

Hays has partnered with a reputable home builder in Calgary seeking an Intermediate Estimator to join their team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Issue purchase orders and requests for quotes.
  • Review and accept quotes from trades and suppliers.
  • Complete purchase order summaries for job profitability.
  • Analyze drawings and complete material take-offs.
  • Assist with and reconcile interior selections documents.
  • Report weekly on interior selections status.
  • Maintain cost control and review invoices.
  • Communicate with various departments.
  • Negotiate custom pricing.
  • Cross-train and support team members.

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience with a home building company.
  • 2-year diploma in Building Development Technologies (BDT) or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Desire to learn about residential construction.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Buildtopia is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and a team player.
