Maax Bath, a leader in North American bathroom fixtures, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations and accounting activities of the Maax businesses. The Controller will play a key role in ensuring strong financial management including compliance with accounting standards, timely financial reporting, planning and budgeting, and effective internal controls. This role will also manage and support our Accounts Receivable team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and all necessary analysis.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, review processes, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Design, model, develop and implement tools to assist managers with decision-making, including budgeting, reporting and operational review and forecasting.
Internal Control & Compliance
Develop, implement, document, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.Ensure compliance with provincial, federal and US tax regulations, including sales tax and other statutory filings.Communicate with external auditors and manage audit processes.Supervise the Accounts Receivable team, ensuring timely collections, credit management, and reporting.Support the accounting team in day-to-day operations, month-end close, and process improvements.Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Marketing, R&D and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate financial data and alignment with business objectives.Manage external requests from the corporate head office, government entities and legal partners.Strategic Contribution
Contribute to operational efficiency initiatives, cost reduction projects, working capital optimization, and other ad-hoc projects.Support growth initiatives, including new product launches and market expansion across Canada and North America.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA designation.Minimum 5-8 years of progressive accounting / finance experience, ideally in manufacturing.Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting.Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.Bilingual (French / English) is required.Skills & Attributes
