Job purpose
CDCD is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance IT and Facilities to provide strategic and operational leadership for the organizations financial information technology functions and oversee physical facilities. This role ensures responsible stewardship of financial resources strong internal controls regulatory compliance and effective and secure use of technology to support the CDCDs mission and programs.
The Director will oversee all aspects of financial planning accounting compliance grant and contract management payroll and IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to the Executive Director.

Duties and responsibilities
- Using client-centered anti-oppression anti-racism trauma-informed gender-based analysis plus and strength-based approaches build relationships and establish rapport with existing community partners vendors landlords clients and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy protection measures for all community partners landlord vendors staff and clients.
- Promote a high-functioning teamwork environment that is inclusive harmonious cooperative efficient and productive.
- Participates in promoting a positive workplace culture through agency committee membership and departmental activities.
Finance & Accounting
Lead the development monitoring and reporting of the annual agency operating budget program budgets and long-term financial plans.Support Executive level financial planning and policy developmentOversee all accounting operations including Accounts payable Accounts recievable payroll bank reconciliations month-end and year-end closings.Lead preparation of financial statements analysis and reports and presentations for the Executive Director Board Audit Committee and funders.Ensure compliance with funder requirements (municipal provincial federal and charitable) CRA regulations and accounting standards for non-profits.Manage cash flow investments and banking relationships.Lead annual audit and liaise with external auditors.Develop and enforce strong internal financial controls protocols and procedures.Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and program sustainability.Grants Contracts & Reporting
Oversee financial aspects of grant proposals contract negotiations and funding agreements.Support grant budgeting reporting and cost allocationEnsure accurate financial reporting to all funders within specified deadlines.Monitor funding budgets and ensure compliance with spending guidelines.Information Technology
Develop and oversee the organizations IT strategy in alignment with funder requirements program and operational needsManage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.Oversee system upgrades integrations and digital transformation initiativesEstablish IT policies and procedures to support staff productivity cyber security awareness and IT compliance standards.Facilities Oversight
Build and manage relationships with new and existing external vendors contractors stakeholders and partnersManage space planning renovations maintenance of facilitiesApprove purchases of equipment supplies and servicesKey Operational Advisory & Support
Serve as a key advisor to the Executive DirectorWrite and submit reports to the ED in all matters ofimportanceMaintain control and streamline diverse operational processes ensuringsmooth organizationalfunctioningDesign and implement operational strategies plans andproceduresSet comprehensive goals for agency performance andgrowth initiativesAssist ED in fundraisingventuresPerform other related tasks asassignedSenior Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise mentor and develop team membersPartner with program managers to support data-driven decision-makingIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency automation and cost-effectivenessQualifications
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field. Masters degree is an asset7-10 years of progressive financial management experience preferably in the non-profit or public sector.Demonstrated experience overseeing IT operations facilities systems and strategy.Strong knowledge of fund accounting grant management donor management systems and compliance for charitable organizations.Demonstrated leadership and staff management experienceStrong communication analytical and organizational skillsAdditional Requirements
