Reporting to the Senior Director, CBC News Operations, this role will support and oversee the local leaders who manage day-to-day operations across the organization and help drive our ongoing digital transformation as part of the CBC News Operations senior leadership team. Further, the incumbent will be responsible to make certain that our standardized workflow and technology choices are suited to the needs of teams across the country. The Director of Local Operations will also be expected to represent CBC News when collaborating with leaders throughout the broader CBC / Radio-Canada organization to clearly convey the needs and interests of the News division in strategic decision-making that pertains to technology, infrastructure and workflow.
The Director of Local Operations will also work closely with editorial leadership across CBC News to maintain alignment between editorial strategy and operations. Further, this role will be accountable to the Senior Managing Directors who oversee local news stations by keeping them informed of strategic and critical operational matters and collaborating on undertakings and initiatives that could impact their areas of responsibility.
