As part of this commitment, we are embarking on an exciting digital transformation to implement a new, modernized hospital information system (HIS). Our dedicated HIS team will collaborate closely with our trusted HIS vendor (Epic) and internal subject matter experts to develop a fully functional system that will empower us to deliver exceptional care and services.
The Interface Analyst is responsible for the design, build, testing and maintenance of all interfaces within the HIS ecosystem. This role is part of the HIS project structure, with a key responsibility to design, deliver and sustain our systems to address both clinical and non-clinical needs, ensuring the HIS is utilized effectively and efficiently in patient care.
Accountabilities :
- Participate in workflow design, analysis, build, testing and maintenance tasks associated with the interfaces, web services and APIs (such as FHIR) that integrate with Epic
- Work closely with subject matter experts to determine business needs, document requirements, and configure interfaces per the requirements
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure seamless integration of systems, which includes coordinating interface development, troubleshooting data exchange issues and validating data accuracy to maintain compliance with established health care standards and protocols
- Monitor interface errors and associated error work queues
- Analyze, review and test new Epic functionality software releases
- Apply updates to production and non-production environments, ensuring maintenance of the various environments according to the environment strategy
- Troubleshoot and resolve interface related errors that impact overall Epic performance
- Work closely with the Epic HIS vendor and operational subject matter experts to help create the future state deployment of Epic platforms and any associated integrations
- Create and maintain documentation to build a repository of key configuration decisions and associated build
- Attend meetings to discuss deliverables, issues, end user concerns and upcoming milestones
- Work closely with HIS team members to identify and troubleshoot issues to find creative resolutions
- Partner with the Epic HIS vendor representatives to maintain communication and help vendor staff understand hospital’s operational needs
- Achieve Epic certification and / or accreditation
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24 / 7 support
- Work extended hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as required
Qualifications
Previous experience working with a modernized HIS at an EMRAM Stage 6 or higher and / or Epic certification is an assetA strong understanding of web services security practices, including OAuth, SSL / TLS and other security protocols relevant to safeguarding data transmitted across interfaces, is highly valued as an assetExperience with integration engines such as BizTalk Server and Mirth is considered an asset, demonstrating the ability to configure and manage complex data flows effectivelyUnderstanding of various data formats such as XML, XSD, JSON and CSV, alongside communication protocols like HTTP, MLLP, SOAP and MQTT is considered an assetPrevious experience implementing and supporting complex integrations is an assetPrevious experience with HL7 2.x and industry standard APIs (FHIR) is preferredDemonstrated critical thinking skills, strong organizational skills and well-developed written and verbal communication skills are requiredDemonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Enterprise applications (i.e., Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote) is requiredAbility to learn new software and systems, demonstrating technical aptitudeAbility to work in an agile environment to deliver an HIS that meets end user needsAbility to work independently and in collaboration with a team to meet HIS project milestones and ensure successful project deliveryAbility to analyze user requirements and produce creative solutions to meet end user needsAbility and willingness to support project success in a manner that goes beyond completion of assigned tasksAbility to persevere in a high intensity project to overcome obstacles and difficult situations within a time sensitive implementationAbility to travel to the United States as requiredMust demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and CollaborationAdditional Information
Hours : Currently Days (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
Salary Range : $88,413.00 - $110,526.00
