EHS Coordinator

We are currently seeking a dynamic candidate to fill the position of EHS Coordinator for our Quebec plants.

Reporting to the Metra North America EHS Coordinator,

General Description of Duties / Responsibilities :

• Support a ONE Metra approach to achieving company safety and environmental performance objectives through effective collaboration with corporate and divisional EHS staff.
• Assist with development and implement safety and environmental programs and policies as necessary to become and remain compliant with laws and regulations and to promote safety, environmental, and sustainability culture in facilities.
• Track and communicate to plant leadership team completion of supervisor-led safety projects, such as SOCs and IFEs.
• Track and report out quarterly ESG reports.
• Lead efforts to enhance hazard recognition and JSA development and maintenance
• Promote injury prevention through employee engagement and management support to improve safety culture and behaviors at assigned facilities.
• Lead a safety committee that includes involvement from hourly and salary personnel.
• Drive efforts to achieve and maintain ISO 14001 certification or equivalent at assigned locations.
• Support site managers, employees, and safety teams on initiatives and programs for compliance with all federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Support site personnel in investigating incidents and near miss events, implementing corrective actions from internal and external audits, and communicating with regulatory agencies, as required.
• Work with the appropriate department to develop capital project requests for machine guarding, ergonomics, dock safety, and other hazard mitigation projects.
• Complete assigned projects in a timely, effective manner.
• Establish and report site key EHS performance metrics to ensure objectives are met.
• Manage incident reporting process including completion of investigations, implementation of corrective actions, and communication to key stakeholders.
• Assist in establishing site strategies, systems, and controls to assure company objectives and compliance in the areas of health and safety.
• Coordinate process improvements that will reduce injuries and incidents and minimize employee exposures and environmental impacts.
• Perform other activities as required to support overall plant EHS and training effectiveness.
• Maintain current records of incidents, including recordables, lost time, restricted duty, and TRIR.
• Coordinate any IH projects and sampling required.
• Monitor all injury treatment and follow up and communicate status of restricted duty and progress to site leadership.
