Job Title : Senior Architectural Technologist

Location : Vancouver, BC

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist on behalf of one of our clients, a well-established architectural firm known for its commitment to high-quality design, exceptional client service, and sustainable design principles. With over 40 years of practice in Western Canada, they have built a strong reputation for their expertise in retail, residential, mixed-use, office, and senior health-care projects.

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to join our client’s Vancouver office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building technology and a proven ability to lead the production of drawings through Revit models for various project types. This role involves managing multiple projects, mentoring junior technologists, and effectively coordinating with clients and consultants.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead the production of drawings through Revit models for multifamily residential, commercial (office or retail), and other project types.

Manage priorities and meet tight deadlines for multiple projects concurrently.

Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, and municipal staff throughout the project lifecycle.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technologists, fostering skill development and team growth.

Oversee detailing and demonstrate a strong understanding of sustainable design considerations.

Navigate municipal approvals processes with proficiency and ensure compliance with the BC Building Code (Part 3 and Part 9) and ASHRAE 90.1.

Maintain a high level of proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp to support project needs.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Qualifications :

Completion of a certified Building Technology or Architectural program from a professionally recognized institution.

Over 8 years of relevant experience in the Canadian architectural industry, with BC experience considered an asset.

Demonstrated expertise in building technology, particularly in wood frame, multifamily residential, and commercial projects.

Advanced skills in Revit, with strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.

Experience with mentoring junior technologists and supporting team development.

In-depth knowledge of the BC Building Code (Part 3 and Part 9) and ASHRAE 90.1, with an understanding of NECB considered an asset.

Familiarity with municipal approvals processes and sustainable design considerations.

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.

Strong interpersonal skills and alignment with the client’s guiding principles.
