Job description

Our client, a leading Canadian mechanical contractor specializing in heavy industrial projects, is seeking a Project Coordinator to join their Rotating Equipment Division on a permanent basis. This full-time role is based in Port Coquitlam, BC, with travel to operating plant facilities such as refineries and pulp mills as required.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist with proposal submissions and project coordination, including managing proposals, reviewing technical drawings related to rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, turbines), and handling contract administration, document management, and change orders.
  • Support rotating equipment project management efforts by ensuring smooth communication and coordination with clients, subcontractors, and all stakeholders to meet project specifications.
  • Monitor project activities for rotating equipment, maintaining budgets, schedules, and quality standards while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and safety standards.
  • Promote the company’s culture, values, and strategic objectives, emphasizing safety and efficiency in rotating equipment project management.
  • Oversee construction tenders and negotiations for rotating equipment installations and repairs, including discussions around maintenance agreements and service schedules.

Ideal Candidate Requirements :

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing coordination, ideally with exposure to rotating equipment, or a Technical Degree (or equivalent education).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and MS Project, with a focus on applications for rotating equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in rotating equipment maintenance and project coordination within refinery or heavy industrial settings (preferred).
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in demanding industrial environments.
  • Flexible and able to travel to various project sites, including remote locations, and work extended hours when needed.
