Purpose : The Director, Annual Giving is accountable for planning, managing and implementing all aspects of annual giving for St. Paul’s Foundation. This position reports into the Vice President, Communications and Community Giving and will work closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Director of Events. Summary of Position : The Director, Annual Giving will lead the expansion and integration of annual giving programming, building on a donor base of more than 7,000 individuals who currently contribute more than $3 million annually in the form of annual gifts and mid-level gifts.The Director will join St. Paul’s Foundation at an inflection point as the organization moves forward with an ambitious public fundraising campaign and invests in technology to support journeys that both integrate channels and ensure an amazing donor experience for online sourced donors.The Director will develop and deploy multichannel direct response strategies, with a focus on growing digital fundraising to increase dollars and donors, strengthening the pipeline of prospective supporters who are interested in financially contributing to St. Paul’s Foundation through its upcoming public fundraising campaign and beyond.The incumbent embraces goal-oriented outcomes as an entrepreneurial, creative thinker who is passionate about joining a collaborative and high performing team. Responsibilities :
- Sets strategy and operational plan for Annual Giving, aligning with St. Paul’s Foundation’s goals that covers the full donor cycle resulting in increased donor base and revenue.
- Leads a collaborative team, providing mentorship and direction for direct response fundraising and mid-level giving to accelerate donor value through pipeline development.
- Oversees omnichannel direct response program, integrating direct mail, online giving, monthly giving and telemarketing with digital marketing (led by Marketing & Communications) to drive contributions.
- Leverages proven experience with latest industry trends and insights to expand mid-level giving, monthly giving and tribute giving programs.
- Assesses newly launched online giving platform and leads out on optimizing online giving experience to ensure it is best in class.
- Works with Business Intelligence, database teams to leverage emerging data analytics tools to capture, synthesize and activate personalized engagement strategies based on donor affinities, demographics and psychographics.
- Collaborates with Events team to support expansion of community giving strategies.
- Oversees annual giving portfolio fundraising metrics, ensuring goals are met or exceeded.
- Analyzes campaign performance, leads team to optimize strategies through testing, and ensures alignment with broader fundraising goals.
- Reports on portfolio progress, tracking gift levels, donor acquisition and retention, and pipeline movement.
- Develops and oversees program budget and external vendor relationships.Qualifications :
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive fundraising experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role; health care philanthropy experience and CFRE designation preferred.
- Proven track record in annual giving strategy, planning and execution that drives donor growth and revenue; capital campaign experience preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in direct response (direct mail, online giving, monthly giving, and telemarketing) and mid-level giving.
- Specialized knowledge in tribute giving and grateful patient programs.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
- High level of data literacy and technological acumen.
- Proficiency with data analytics tools, best practices data management and database concepts, including data quality, data acquisition techniques, and specialized segmenting.
- Exceptionally strong analytical skills, project management skills and experience working in a metrics-driven environment.
