Roles and Responsibilities
Assist the Project Manager with the following :
Perform tasks to coordinate the pre-development, pre-construction, construction, and close out phases of a projectReview, finalize, and distribute project budget with assistance from the Project ManagerEnsure all required permits and licenses are obtained and postedInitiate set-up, monitoring, and update of project schedule with project teamEnsure all required submittal review, processing and approvals, and submittal logs are set-up and maintainedDevelop, submit, and obtain approval of billing schedule of valuesPrice and process all change conditions and change work ordersMaintain all required change order logsPerform continual cost control and management and forecasting for overall financial performance of assigned projectsEnsure all projects are closed out in an organized and timely mannerConduct post-contraction closeout meetings for assigned projectsBuild long term relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliersPrepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractorsAttend pre-bid meetings as requiredCalculate quantity take-off detailing all the materials and supplies necessary for the contract to achieve specificationCoordinate the bid preparation with all in-house departments i.e., Safety, Quality Assurance, Accounting, etc.Liaise with suppliers and collect quotes on materialsReview, prepare, and submit Request for Quotation (RFQ)’s from vendors and subcontractorsReview take-offs, checking for mathematical and technical accuracyFollow up on tender closings with clientsTrack actual costs against the estimate and identify possible improvements to processesPrice change ordersPerform other duties as assigned by the Project ManagerRequired Skills
Professional, approachable and customer-service orientedStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeAttention to detail and a high degree of accuracyGood mathematical and analytical skillsAbility to prioritize workloads and utilize planning & time management skills to adhere to strict deadlinesStrong oral and written communication skillsRequired Experience
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)Strong familiarity with projects within the mechanical scopeCompletion of an Engineering Degree, CET, or Journeyperson ticket is preferredMinimum of 2 years of experience required, within construction industryAdditional Requirements
