Job description

Job overview :

As a President you will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of the company.

The President / General Manager will oversee all aspects of operations, including client relations, estimating, field operations, accounting, and finance.

Direct and Indirect Reports :

  • Finance / Accounting Team
  • Managers and Project Managers (PMs)
  • Superintendents
  • Estimating Team
  • Human Resources, Health & Safety Team

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the board and key leadership to define and implement the strategic plan and objectives.
  • Define, document, and promote the company's culture and vision internally and externally.
  • Assess and allocate company resources effectively.
  • Oversee and nurture relationships with clients and Geotechs, ensuring high standards of service.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder interactions, including clients, vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors, and assist with resolving issues.
  • Work with managers on project selection, vendor and subcontractor sourcing, and ensuring quality standards, including proposal strategy and final pricing.
  • Work with estimating, including project targeting and profit margin setting.
  • Manage all financial aspects, including :
  • Overseeing the preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Monitoring finances and working capital (capital commitments, accounts receivable, and accounts payable).
  • Signing cheques and reviewing accounts receivable.
  • Planning for financing and leasing of equipment.
  • Develop forecasts and solutions for project, manpower, and equipment needs to meet organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and implement marketing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain joint venture (JV) partnerships in collaboration with managers.
  • Identify and explore new business opportunities and regional development areas.
  • Evaluate opportunities and provide advice on contract negotiations and execution.
  • Oversee human resources functions, including :
  • Leading performance reviews for senior staff.
  • Reviewing and approving recruitment, job postings, and hiring processes.
  • Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in senior management roles, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financials and operational aspects of a business.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in overseeing diverse teams and fostering a positive corporate culture.
