There is an opportunity for a dynamic Pursuit / Business Development professional to join our client as Head of Pursuits, a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and delivering on all aspects of complex heavy civil construction proposals that involve multiple contributors and stakeholders. They will work with their bid team (internal and external partners) to develop pursuit strategies and will lead estimating and technical teams to deliver the RFQ / RFP. The successful candidate will take ownership of all major project pursuits, identifying opportunities early and cultivating relationships with key decision-makers to ensure our client remains top of mind for high-value, complex Western Canadian civil projects. With large-scale public and private sector projects often announced years in advance, the Head of Pursuits will need to have a deep understanding of Western Canada’s infrastructure pipeline and maintain a proactive presence in the market, maintain relationships with key partners that could be part of a consortium and understand the scope and scale of potential projects to effectively present our client as the project leader of choice. The Head of Pursuits will play a vital role in achieving this vision by ensuring our client is front and center for multi-year, high-value projects and working with the leadership team to deliver quality services and maintain its reputation of being one of the most respected construction companies in the province.

As the ideal candidate, you are a strategic, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You bring deep experience in the planning and execution of complex infrastructure pursuits. With a solid background in civil construction, public-private partnerships (P3), and large-scale transportation or utility projects, you excel at navigating the full lifecycle of competitive bids—from early-stage opportunity assessment through to proposal submission and contract negotiation. You are a collaborative team player who can coordinate multidisciplinary teams, interface with internal and external stakeholders, and drive pursuit strategies that align with corporate goals and client needs. Combining strong technical knowledge with commercial insight, you bring exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills to secure high-value infrastructure projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
