BILINGUAL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor at its Montreal Grain Terminal. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigning, coordinating, and participating in the regular maintenance and repair activities at our Montreal terminal, while ensuring the provision of safe, timely and efficient service.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Plan and participate in work activities, ensuring a high standard of workmanship, including :

• Safety and regulatory inspections.
• Maintenance of material bulk handling.
• Adhere to facility repair and preventative maintenance programs.

Perform the daily supervision of staff to ensure full compliance of programs and policies.

Create and participate in the daily shift and toolbox meetings.

Budget, plan, communicate and execute on large-scale facility shutdowns with various internal contractors and external staff.

Order and check pre-ordered material and complete local purchases.

Participate in work site business planning meetings as required with local operations employees.

Control and monitor critical equipment inventory, based on facility design and inventory availability.

Identify safety training requirements and ensure staff have completed their necessary training.

Ensure company equipment and material receives proper care custody, maintenance and usage. Evaluate employee performance and make recommendations to the manager on hiring, promotion and discharge of employees.

Maintenance Supervision

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Experience in maintenance project planning.
• Experience in reading building plans and blueprints.
• Demonstrated physical ability to perform the functions of the job.
• Availability to work extended or on-call hours.
• Availability to work on shift, including weekends as required.
• Bilingual with superior oral / written communication skills (French / English)

Education and Qualifications :

• Minimum of four (4) years progressive experience in bulk material handling maintenance and repairs.
• Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
• Journeyman level certificate is an asset, yet relevant experience and leadership ability with supplemented supervisory training will be considered.

Principales responsabilités :

• Planifier et participer aux activités quotidiennes de travail, en garantissant un niveau élevé dans l’exécution, notamment :
• Inspections de sécurité et réglementaires;
• Entretien des équipements de manutention des matériaux en vrac;
• Adhérer aux programmes de réparation et d'entretien préventif des installations.
• Effectuer la supervision quotidienne du personnel pour assurer la pleine conformité des programmes et politiques.
• Créer et participer aux réunions quotidiennes de quart de travail.
• Budgétiser, planifier, communiquer et exécuter les arrêts planifiés à grande échelle avec divers entrepreneurs externes et le personnel interne.
• Faire la commande de pièces et de matériel.
• Participer aux réunions de planification des activités opérationnelles au besoin avec les employés d’opérations.
• Contrôler et surveiller l'inventaire des équipements critiques, en fonction de la conception des installations et de la disponibilité des stocks.
• Identifier les exigences en matière de formation santé et sécurité et s'assurer que le personnel a terminé les formations nécessaires.
• Veiller à ce que les équipements de l'entreprise reçoivent l’entretien approprié et que leur utilisation est appropriée.
• Évaluer le rendement des employés et faire des recommandations au gestionnaire sur l'embauche, la promotion et le congédiement des employés.

Connaissances et compétences :

• Expérience en planification de projets de maintenance.
• Expérience dans la lecture de plans.
• Capacité physique démontrée à exécuter les fonctions de l'emploi.
• Disponibilité pour travailler pendant des heures prolongées ou sur appel, au besoin.
• Disponibilité à travailler la fin de semaine, au besoin.

Éducation et qualifications :

• Minimum de quatre (4) années d'expérience progressive dans la maintenance et la réparation d’équipements de manutention de matériaux en vrac.
• Diplôme en mécanique industrielle ou l’équivalent.
• Connaissances en électrotechnique est un atout.
