Role Overview
This senior leadership role focuses on delivering client-centric materials handling solutions through project management, technical oversight, and advisory expertise. The position involves direct client engagement to align engineering solutions with operational and business goals in bulk materials handling and related infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Advisory Focus
- Partner with clients to assess business objectives, operational needs, and infrastructure requirements.
- Develop strategies for materials handling optimization, including capacity analysis, expansion planning, site evaluations, bottleneck resolution, and conceptual design.
- Conduct feasibility studies evaluating technical, economic, and regulatory factors.
- Facilitate communication among clients, teams, and stakeholders as a key advisor.
Technical Scope
Lead design, selection, upgrades, repairs, and optimization of bulk materials handling equipment and systems, including conveyors, chutes, stackers / reclaimers, rail unloaders, shiploaders, and marine loading infrastructure.Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and client specifications; review deliverables and recommend enhancements.Drive innovation in technologies for improved efficiency and sustainability.Perform field visits for emergencies, scoping, data collection, issue resolution, and asset inspections.Project Leadership
Create detailed project plans covering scope, budget, timelines, and resources; draft clear proposals.Manage multidisciplinary teams, promoting collaboration, performance, and growth through mentoring.Oversee budgets and resource efficiency.Proactively manage risks to deliver projects successfully.Essential
10–15 years in mechanical engineering, specializing in bulk materials handling with a consultancy.P.Eng. registration with EGBC or equivalent provincial body.Strong client engagement skills to deliver value-driven solutions.Deep expertise in materials handling system design, execution, and optimization.Proven track record leading complex projects and teams on time / budget
