Electrical Technologist / EIT
Arcadis is the world’s leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. We are seeking an Electrical Technologist to join our Mobility / ITS Team in Burnaby, BC. The role focuses on creating and developing electrical plans and designs for transportation projects, translating conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings and documentation that facilitate the construction and implementation of electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Draft and design electrical drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD for lighting, signaling, power distribution, and control systems.
- Assist engineers and designers in developing electrical design concepts and specifications.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including plans, elevations, sections and wiring diagrams.
- Coordinate with drafting and design team members, architects, contractors and regulatory agencies to integrate electrical designs seamlessly with overall project plans.
- Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and documentation to identify and resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and project specifications.
- Maintain proficiency in CAD software tools and stay updated on latest features.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, clarify design requirements, address technical issues and provide project progress updates.
Qualifications
Associate degree or certificate in drafting, design or related field.4+ years of experience in drafting, design or electrical drafting.Proficiency in CADD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation or Revit.Experience in electrical drafting or design, preferably in transportation or infrastructure sector.Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, wiring diagrams, circuit layouts and electrical symbols.Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, CSA).Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.Salary range : $66,000–$99,000. Base salary varies by location, skills, experience and qualification for the role.
